Advocating for the equality and non-discrimination of LGBTI staff in the UN system and its peacekeeping operations

March with us!

March with us!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a key moment in LGBTIQ+ history. In June 1969, a police raid at a Greenwich Village bar frequented by LGBTIQ+ patrons led to spontaneous protests against discrimination and criminalization. These demonstrations helped jumpstart a worldwide movement for equality and inclusion.

For the past five years, UN-GLOBE has been participating in Pride marches worldwide, including in Geneva, New York, and Uganda. Our participation at Pride is an opportunity for the UN to show support for diversity, equality, and inclusion for all.

Cologne Pride: 7th July 2019

March with us in Cologne

Demonstrating together and speaking out for our claims make up the success of Cologne Pride, as well as its impact on society and politics. Pride is an opportunity to take a stance against discrimination and violence towards people of the LGBTIQ+ community worldwide.

We invite all UN System staff to march with us under the UN-GLOBE banner, bringing together all agencies of the UN.

Cologne Pride is the joint demonstration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender and intersexual people as well as their friends and supporters. Unconditional social acceptance is and remains our stated aim. Likewise, Cologne Pride is an expression of self-confidence and zest for life. The march will take place on Sunday, 7th July.

Please sign up for the march! A voluntary contribution of 20 EUR will get you a UN-GLOBE t-shirt. No one will be turned away from the march for lack of funds.

See you at Pride 2019!
